Thanks Fatma...

Don't mix up my teaching style with what all teachers do in the US...there are many different teaching styles within the US and, in fact, the majority of teachers I know are still waiting for students to raise their hands.  Many teachers here are very pleasantly surprised when they start implementing some of the simple teaching tips I share with them...

You're welcome Adam ...

I said what I said upon what I see in movies and hear from people about teaching style there at the US . But let's discuss these matters here if possible, I mean the similarities and differences between here in Egypt and there at the US, I'm looking forward to hearing from you too about how is it there ? and am I right in what I said or not ?

you know what!, something else I like too there which is the relationship between parents and their children and how they behave as friends _ I don't know if the majority is doing that or not , I'm just talking in general also from what I see and hear, so, if I'm wrong you can make it clear for me _ and how they are really related to each others .....etc.

When I see that in movies, I really feel so proud of this and wish that this could be achieved in the majority here ; actually it's not achieved enough.

Hello Adam,

My basic story - I have a BFA in graphic design and am K-12 art ed certified.  I too am currently teaching ESL in China at Shandong University of Technology (Ni hao Kai6854!), and although I love my students, we are ready to leave after this year.  I am finishing my 2nd year here, but other than that have no experience in American schools other than the usual student teaching and such.

I have found my dream job at an international school in Mexico - I've already been in contact with them and they told me they'll know if they have an opening for an art teacher in the middle of January, and that I should keep in touch.  That's a good sign, right?

I'm hoping I can meet some other teachers who have had experience with international schools.  I also recently bought your book on how to interview, and I'm already practicing!  Thanks for providing a place where like-minded people can meet.

One more note for any other China users - I had to access this forum in China using Anonymouse (a website which allows you to visit many blocked websites in China via another server, I think).  I don't know why it'd be blocked  (they just had a crackdown on blogs, so maybe it falls into that category), but none of the sites selling the books are, just the ones for the teaching tips machine sites.  Not to worry, though - most of us who've been here for a while are used to it.

Thanks again and have a great day!

DEFINITELY keep in touch with them...don't lose contact...as I state in my book the follow-up is a critical piece of getting any job.

Good luck!

Hello,
I am a teacher from Scotland. I have begun to dip into your book and have tried out a couple of things which have left me feeling renewed and invigorated with my teaching which I felt had fallen flat. So many thanks

Hello Mr. Waxler, my teacher speaks very highly of you and recommended all of her students visit and be apart of your site as a class project.  I have to admit I was exited about getting on and getting my share of the wealth of information you have made available by fulfilling your dream.  Thanks a lot.  My regards, Sarah

Hallo! Smiley

My name is Josh, and I'm a first-year German teacher in Pennsylvania. I read your book today and have been thinking of ways to adapt your strategies to fit my content area. I had some time today to reflect on my classes and I know that I'll do many things different next year.  Thanks for the inspiration, and I look forward to using this forum!

Hi, My name is Margaret and I am working on my Bachelors in ESE Education. It has become my LOVE.  I am a student of non traditional age, beginning a whole new career and looking forward to it. I believe I can make a difference because I come into this field with many years of life experience. I've already raised my family and am ready to focus on my priorities. Number #1 becoming a successful Exceptional Student educator. I am thankful for IRCC they are making this milestone easily attainable. They are going above and beyond transitioning IRCC from a 2 year degree institution to a 4 year degree seeking institution, and doing a great job of it.

Yours truly,

M

Hello,

My name is April and I am a new-graduate applying for my certificate in elementary ed.  I found some of Adam's info. on the internet about 6 months ago and found his site to be one of the few places where you can get genuine, straight-foreward help/ideas.  The thought of going back to school (I know, I am loco) so that I can teach social studies has crossed my mind because of all the awesome ideas he has shared about how he teaches social studies.

Adam, thanks for sharing what you know with us!  You're are an awesome mentor!  Keep up the great work!

April~

Hi,
I'm an Elementary 5th grade teacher in Georgia. I am currently working with a provisional contract. I am taking online classes through the University of Phoneix and hope by this time next year I will be fully certified.
