Hello everyone!
I am a First grade teacher, with a group of 24 students, wich 12 of them are Special Education Program Students and facing failure in first grade twice right know.  Two of the students had been diagnosed with emotional disturbances and I spend most of my day dealing with fights and dangerous situations, not only for them, but for other students .  I feel very frustrated right know beacuse I feel I am leaving alone the rest of my group between the fights and the individualization.  I feel very upset and I don't how to handle the situation anymore.  I am also a 7 years teacher dealing with a situatuion like this one for the first time.  I will greatly apprecite some suggestions on this matter.  Thankfully of all you out there,     Smiley
Respectfully,
Carmen

Hello:
Right now ,I am not getting any support from my school administrator, so I made a sheet to write down all the incidents and send them to her.  I hope she will do something about every incident I am facing with the fights of these two emotional disturbed students.  I regret to feel like this, but I am not train to handle the needs and particularities of this students with emotional disturbances.  We also, does not have an Special Education teacher for the first graders right now.  We started school in August 5, and we still waiting for the new teacher to be assigned for the first graders.  So I keep reading on the Internet, keep searching in books at Borders and keep asking to people like you.  I really want to do my job as a teacher and to do a good job.

Thank you all out there.

Won't the administration grant you an assistant or two? The assistants could deal with the aggression and leave you to teach the rest of the children. Failing that, maybe you could get the most unruly one's parent to volunteer in the classroom .
