What are some things to use besides punishment when a student is being bad?

Well, I must first stress the importance of doing everything you can "before" problems arise...the proactive approach rather than the reactive approach.  But of course problems still happen.

There is a link to my report on the Law of Least Intervention as well as a sugesstion on what to do instead of punishment when the proactive apporach still doesn't work.
